Child Sponsorship

For just £18 a month

Care for Uganda child sponsorship programme has already been able to help hundreds of children. There are literally thousands of children still desperately in need of this same opportunity.

Care For Uganda meets many families that simply cannot afford to send their children to school.  Although education is officially free in Uganda, there are many associated costs with schooling that mean many children don't get to go.  Sponsorship covers additional 'top-up' school fees, uniform, scholastic materials and lunch during term time for those in primary school and helps towards school fees for those in secondary schools.

By committing to giving £18 a month, you can give a child the opportunity of an education that can transform their life.

Community Sponsorship

Care for Uganda works in partnership with the people of Bbowa in the Luwero District. It aims to achieve lasting change by enhancing the skills and knowledge of community members and giving them opportunities to improve their standard of living through sustainable development.

For £18 per month you can help change a community by supporting projects which include:

  • Providing families with breeding livestock - usually pigs, but sometimes chickens or goats.

  • Providing the materials to build energy saving stoves in schools and homes; the stoves save money and protect the environment by burning less fuel.

  • Establishing nursery seedbeds to provide fruit trees.

  • Providing community latrines so that people do not defecate in the bush.

  • Training people to make compost to improve their crop yields.
